The 2020 edition was set to showcase exceptional talent, including Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega, but was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival resumed in 2022, marking a triumphant return with the same high standards of quality and energy that attendees have come to expect.

Despite facing challenges such as cancellations due to the pandemic, Bailongo has remained resilient and continues to thrive. The festival is now gearing up for its 10th anniversary in 2025, promising an exciting lineup of classes, performances, and milongas that will celebrate a decade of tango in Montreal.
